Mary
I have worked in elementary schools in Canada and in international school settings in Africa and in Asia. I have worked as an ESL teacher, classroom teacher K to 6, Music, Gym and Special Education teacher. I obtained my BEd. and B.A. through the Trent/Queens Concurrent Education Program and am now in the MET (Masters of Educational Technology) program at UBC.
I have over twenty five years of experience in the world of education, from both sides of the desk. I am a parent of a child with significant learning challenges. I am the chair of our Special Education Advisory Committee, and represent Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario.
I have taught students and collaborated with teachers from all over the globe. Experienced in teaching Special Education, and English as a Second Language, I have a passion for technology and how it can be used to support students facing barriers to learning.
I believe in the power of technology to enrich the lives of individuals and of communities. I want to help make that happen.
